What We Stand For
Five guiding principles rooted in faith, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the people of Kanungu.
At Maramagambo Community Medical Center, our core values are not just words on a wall. They are the living, breathing principles that shape every interaction, every decision, and every act of care we deliver.
Faith in Action
The hospital is driven by the desire to show God's love and care to everyone, regardless of race, gender, colour, creed, politics, or wealth. Our faith is the foundation of everything we do — from the way we greet a patient at the door, to the quality of care we provide in the ward. We believe that serving others is the highest form of worship.
"Love your neighbor as yourself." — Mark 12:31
Every Person Matters
A core belief that all human beings are made in the image of God and therefore deserve respect and love in every interaction. At MCMC, no patient is turned away, and every individual — from a Batwa community elder to a child in need — is treated with the same dignity and compassion. We see the divine in every face we encounter.
"So God created mankind in his own image." — Genesis 1:27
Kindness as Medicine
The hospital emphasizes providing care to all individuals in a sensitive, attentive, and timely manner — always putting the patient first. We understand that illness is frightening, and that true healing begins with feeling heard, seen, and cared for. Our staff are trained not just in clinical excellence, but in the art of compassionate presence.
"Bear one another's burdens." — Galatians 6:2
Body, Mind & Spirit
Care at MCMC is integrated to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of every patient we encounter. We do not treat diseases in isolation; we treat people in their wholeness. Our chaplaincy services, mental health support, and community ties ensure that patients leave stronger in every dimension of their lives.
"May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless." — 1 Thessalonians 5:23
For the People, By the People
Committed to serving the local community, especially the poor, by offering affordable healthcare and focusing on preventative, community-based health. MCMC was born of the community, is sustained by the community, and exists to serve the community. We go to the people — conducting outreaches, running mobile clinics, and meeting families where they are.
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." — Proverbs 31:8
